Well, I guess I got that there d-day. Not that I'm happy about it. I just hope I can hold out for another month and a half. I'm not planning on sticking with Wal-Mart, there's a possibility I may come back in the future but I'm hoping no. Hopefully, I'll be moving to another town then. But how many of you have suffered from a d-day?

Man, Feb. 19th will be my two year anniversary, I've been skating on a D-day for most of it.

lol, love your icon, so true! >.< Well, usually I'm pretty good, but just lack of enthusiasm and the thought that I may be out of here soon just is getting to me.

I've only been working for wal-mart for about three months and I know I should know what this alreadty means, but what is d-day?

A d-day is a deciscion day, where you get sent home, this is right after a writen coaching mind you. You get sent home, you get paid for it, you got to write a summary of why you want to keep you're job and how you'll fix what you're doing wrong. You can either decide to not come back after the dday or you can come back. Course, you aren't allowed to call in for a year or get a transfer or any promotions etc.

Not all stores make you write a summary.

And as far as I know you can call in, as long as that's not why you were given a d-day.

Ah, well, mine was for attendance. But I've heard from others who've gotten a d-day that they can't call in at all. Maybe I should research it a little.

Been with them for three years and have been at three different stores (cashier & gofer). The way my current store treats me I'm surprised I haven't gotten a D-day or fired. They just love me that much.

The other day I simply asked my [CSS/CSM] a common question and got looked at as if I had three heads. I have other stories too if you want to hear them... This store is crazy, to me, because they don't let the cashiers leave the registers for a price check (even when it's dead) or page over head for anything (we have to call the fitting room)...........ugh I too am just sick and tired of this store. It's soooooooooooo backwards compared to my two previous stores (can't transfer back; would lose at least .50)

cashiers at my store are not allowed to leave the register for any reason (unless emergency) without first notifying a CSM. we are also not allowed to page overhead for anything other than a Code Adam, we have to call the fitting room to page Code Adam's and pages for customers, otherwise we can only use the walkies, which barely any of us have thanks to the store not ordering anymore. it's a pain. i don't mind the no-paging rule, but i think we should have access to more working walkie talkies. i'm a csm, and the only time i get a working walkie to use is occassionally on weekends when one of the csm's with more seniority who has a walkie of her own is not working, then she lets me borrow hers for the day.

Our store is sort of the same. And you can't leave unless you tell the csm. And the csms have their radios and they'll page management or the fitting room. From those I've heard that transfered from other stores that ours is the worst they've been too. Course since the remodel and new store manager we've gotten better. But the gossip and ethics haven't gotten any better. But I did call in to much I was waiting on it to happen. Course now I really don't plan on staying with the company. I'm looking for other work where I plan on moving.
