Former Employee W2s

Okay, this question, obviously by the title, has to do with former employees W2s. My husband, who left Walmart in June (job offer at the post office) still has yet to receive his W2. We don't have a copy of his last paystub (2 kids, cups of liquids, do the math, LOL), so I can't get it online (it doesn't work with our computer, anyway, since it always says his ssn is invalid o.O).

Have they been sent yet? I've tried calling his former store, and the people in personnel refused to give me any information, since I don't work for them. The only other people I could ask got theirs online, so that's no help.

They will be available by Jan 31. That's by law. The reason personnel couldn't tell you anything is probably because they won't know until the W2s show up at the store in the mail bag. I would let them know you would like to pick it up instead of them mailing it to you though.

I don't think we've got a choice with that, since my husband works an hour away now, and they won't give it to me (I tried to pick up his last paycheck, and they wouldn't let me, since I wasn't him, even though the whole electronics department goes "that's his wife"). His only days off lately are Sundays, unless they schedule him for Express (which won't be by the 31st, since that schedule is already out).

did you have a note signed by him? There's alot of couples/family members working at my store, and it's not uncommon to see one come in with a note on pay day and pick up the other's checks.

If he quit in june you will not get his w2 at the store ,it will be mailed to home of record.

I'm just trying to figure out WHEN it's supposed to arrive.

By law I believe it HAS to be mailed out by Jan 31st. Im going to guess you will have it in hand a couple days after that if you don't get it sooner.

Leave it to Walmart to wait until the last possible second.

Then again, the USPS is doing the same dang thing *grumble*

They told us at our morning meeting (9am) that they'd be in next week.

Later when I was in personnel taking a CBL I heard they had arrived at 10am and she was passing them out.

Our store is in NE Ohio.

They're getting them late this year, then. I remember last year them being in the 2nd week of July

Even though he quit in June, he can still get it on w2express.com. The company code is 10108 and the login is his ssn and the password for former associates is the month and two digit yr of birth, so if bd is aug 1, 1970 pass is 0870.
