Myshare

I was checking my check for this coming week, and it says I got a myshare incentive.. We got one last check, so I was wondering what this one could be for?  I was just hoping they didn't mess up my check or something and come back wanting money back.  I hadn't heard of another myshare inct. other than last pay checks.  Does anyone have any ideas?

The new check will not be on line until Monday. The check you got on the 6th is the one still on line. Check back tomorrow and it will update and give you the new one. It updates the Monday before the checks come out on Thur or Fri.

Don't quote me on this, but at my "old" store we missed out on last year's 1st quarter bonus. But since we made our total year figures they are giving us the 1st quarter bonus on this coming check. That may be what you are seeing. (It'd be nice, huh?)

Are you sure it wasn't just on your check to state how much you've gotten from MyShare this year? Can you check again and see if the dollar amount is on the Year to date side or the "This check" side?

If they did mess up, at least you have some warning that you may need to talk to personnel, but Walmart isn't one to mysteriously give you an extra quarterly incentive :P

It's called My Share Plus.....

From what my management team told us, on this check certain stores will have a my share plus amount added to it. What they did, is basically, totaled up the amounts that were given quarterly, and if your store would have gotten more as a yearly rather than quarterly bonus, than the difference would be put on this check. Hope that helps.....

Hence why ppl should screen anonymous comments. If you have a account here, you have NO REASON to be anonymous, except to spout incoherent and/or rude comments. :(

If they had read the post, they would've realized the poster checked the wire before posting this entry.

Hmm.

Our store got one too. My Share Plus I'm told.

I didn't get it, even though I've been there almost a year. No one knows why and no one cares. My co-worker who works the same hours as me got 239 dollars. I really could of used it.

I got screwed out of the last bonus too.

It is the my share plus, or like explained before, basically your year-end bonus. Our last check had $450 bonus, and this weeks is $756 bonus. We were all quite happy to find that out. I'm suprised your management team didn't tell everyone this, cause it's definately a morale booster. Our store qualified for 3 of the 4 quarterly bonus, and then the year-end bonus as well. Alot of retail stores don't offer any type of bonus, so I think this is one of the better things WM does for us.

You would have been eligible to receive the MyShare bonuses after 6 months. For example - if you were hired in April, in October you would become eligible for the bonuses. The weeks you worked October-January would qualify you for the bonuses. This bonus, the my share plus, looks at the entire year. If you were not eligible until October, there was 4 months you'd be eligible. If you think that it is in error that you did not receive the bonus, you or your personnel manager need to contact the payroll department. They can break down the number of weeks you were eligible.

Oh, I know.

I've been to personal. I've been to the store manager. They just tell me "I don't know, maybe next time."

I was hired June 18th. Other people in my department who have been hired for about the same amount of time have gotten both the MyShare last pay and this MyShare Plus this pay. I didn't get it. No one I've talked to cares. That's just what I've come to expect from them.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I'd get in contact with either your market manager or ask for the payroll department number as you can also call them. It sounds like you're ready to give up, and I don't necessarily blame you.

Regarding the MyShare Plus one, the odds of being eligible are slim because you'd be eligible as of December 18th, so from December 18th-January 31st you were eligible. For 4th quarter you would have the same eligibility, and should have received a prorated amount for those weeks. I have actually had the same issue with a few associates in my store and we've had ongoing dialogue with the payroll department to ensure all associates are getting the amount they should be.

It is also dependent upon the number of hours that you work - even with the 6 months, you also need to have worked at least 1000 hours at the store. I'm not sure if you are part or full time, but that may also have something to do with it. Let me know how it goes for you - good luck.

bonus plus

Did you go talk to personel about it? If you were there more than 6 months you should have received one. I would talk to them or your store manager, if you can.

As others here have said, it's the "MyShare Plus" bonus. We got $224 last check, and it will be $104 this time around.

Not much, but every little bit helps.

We didn't get MyShare Plus but we did get MyShare for each of the 4 quarters so I'm not complaining. That was an extra $450 x's 4. Guess we won't get it next year because now we have to make 6% over last year. This year it was just 3%. So far this year we are down about 6%.

Saw something LIKE this on my husband's check.

My Husband, Labratio, is a wal-mart employee, and he got a bonus last pay day too. We are seeing something strange though.

When looking up the paystub on the MyBenefits;
In the area below "Pay Period Beginning Date: 03-01-2008 through Ending Date: 03-14-2008" I see a section "Multiple records found for this pay period. View check/advice #: " with a drop down box that shows two "stubs"

So I check the first one. And its my husband's usual pay, no big surprise there. But then I click on the second "stub" and it shows another "stub" for a different amount, and the type (next to payee) is WSCHK (which I'm assuming is a written check, since my husband useto get checks in the past and the stub showed that before we switched to Direct Deposit). Now I'm looking down that stub, and it shows $0.00 for everyone except MY$HARE INCT, which is where the money on this check is coming from. This has me scratching my head.

Is this that end of the year thing for My$hare? And why would it be in the form of a check?
Labratio thought about it for a bit last night, and he figures the amount (excluding the taxes) is what he figures everyone would be getting at his store, if they were apart of the year end bonus/My$hare thing. But he hasn't been able to sit in on any meetings for the past several weeks, so he has no idea if anyone knows anything. But he will talk to as many managers as he can, to get the straight story.

My worry is that this isn't a My$hare thing, and its an error. The amount of the check is nearly $700. The taxes will have been paid, whether or not we cash the check- so they will still take the taxes from this check out on the next check. Which would mean our rent is going to be woefully short, which is going to put us on the street. I just don't understand how Wal-Mart can make such a huge error, and how in the hell we can survive it. Sure, the way they look at it (on their books) it all evens out at the end of the year- but right now it puts us in a bad position if it is an error.

Labratio thinks I'm overreacting, he thinks its just the My$hare thing. But.. I just can't help but worry. I mean, if this is an error.. we are going to pay for it, and pay for it hard. I'm terrified.

And yes, before anyone gets snippy- my husband is always on the wire checking for news, and he hasn't seen anything mentioning this. And from what we've heard of other employees around the country, no one else is getting a SEPERATE check. Husband is going into personnel tomorrow, and going to speak to his managers to see what's going on. We've also been advised that if his HR manager can't answer the question, there might be a number to call where we can get answers- and she should be able to give us the phon number for that line. So we will see. I'm not cashing the check until I know its not going to be deducted from us in future pay checks.

Re: Saw something LIKE this on my husband's check.

Oh, and I will point out that my husband has asked every manager he can at the store about MyShare Plus, and none of them know what the hell he is talking about. They say it would be great, but they have no idea. So his managers weren't helpful a few weeks ago when he asked. And I dunno if they will be helpful now. If no one at the store knows what this is- then how can we get answers?

Re: Saw something LIKE this on my husband's check.

The MyShare Plus is part of a newer program and many managers haven't been informed as to exactly how it works. We're figuring out new things with it everyday in personnel for associates - when they qualified, how much they qualify for, why they didn't qualify, etc. If he's concerned, I would have him or his personnel manager call payroll and ensure that the check is for the MyShare Plus. Our management team didn't release the amount for our bonus until 1 week ago - they hadn't been sent the information so they couldn't tell us. It was a pain as people wanted to know. Good luck.

Re: Saw something LIKE this on my husband's check.

That makes sense, thank you. We thought that it might be something like the information got put in late, so that's why he's getting a seperate check (instead of direct deposit). My husband's situation is much simplier than yours, he's made no changes recently, and he didn't do anything out of the usual norm for his check.

I just dropped him off at work, and he is going in first thing to talk to the PM, and he'll give me a call at his break. I sure hope it is the My$hare +, because we could use that money!

We figured his store wasn't enrolled or something into the My$hare Plus, because no one knew a thing about it. He read on the wire about it, and other associate message boards, and everyone BUT his store seemed to know what was going on with it. Its nice to know we weren't the only store left in the dark on this.

Sales have been UP up UP for his store, so it makes sense that it would be for the My$hare Plus, but.. if its not, its one hellva error that is going to hurt bad.

Thank you for your insight in this!

I did wonder about this one though... part of the MyShare for this check came from my last store (Feb-Aug.) and then the other part from my current store (Aug-Jan.). I am now in a state with income tax, whereas the other state had none. Taxes say that I get taxed on the full amount, rather than just what was earned from the store here. I'm not going to argue it because I'm sure it will just be more of a headache than anything, but you'd think there'd be a different way to do that.
